Tata Bug Wisdom

I picked Ada up from Sunday School this past Sunday, and as always, I asked her what Mr. Larry taught them about that morning. She simply said with the little diva attitude she has, "God CAN!!" To which I responded, "Well, that's a pretty deep theory for Mr. Larry to be teaching a 2 year old." After church services that night, I ran into Mr. Larry in the hallway and asked about the lesson that morning. He said they learned about how God created day and night, and from that, Ada learned that God CAN. I thought about this alot that night as I laid down to go to sleep. We, as adults, sometimes complicate things too much with theory, which, don't get me wrong, definitely has it's place. But, by the simple fact that He has the power to create the day and night should be proof that He CAN do anything!! He can take a country girl from Woodruff, SC and use her not trained voice and stage fright to minister to so many people on the stage that she used to be afraid of, and He can use a 2 year old curly red-head to remind that country girl that God is bigger and CAN do great things through us. Take comfort in that today and know that, simply, HE CAN!!!

Chop My Head Off, PLEASE!!

So....Josh told me this morning that I needed to add a new blog. I had a migraine yesterday that knocked me off my butt for most of the day, and today, I think I'm reaping the repercussions of all the medicine I had to take to make it through the day yesterday. But, since blogging is so important now, here's a thought: Is is possible that when your head hurts this bad, that you could chop it off and replace it with one that is headache free?? Hummmm.....

Salute to the Armed Forces

I am singing on the praise team Sunday, and of course, it's Memorial Day weekend and we are doing all kinds of patriotic music. As we were pounding out notes while the choir was practicing separately in the sanctuary, I found myself making snide remarks about having to learn all this hard music, after all, I'm a "fly by the seat of your pants" singer. I don't like to be confined to what's on the page. After an attitude check from our praise & worship leader, I remembered why we are doing these songs to start with. Hundreds of thousands of men & women gave their lives or put their lives on the line so that I can have the freedoms that I have, though I wonder lately how much freedoms we as Christians are going to have before too long. The least I can do for these brave people is take the time to learn my music so that they can be honored. So, I sucked it up, and for the first time, I brought my music home from choir, and Josh & I are going to pound the notes out until I get them.

Once again, this is God teaching me to be faithful in the small things. He has given me such huge visions for what He has created me & my family to do, but He always finds little ways to remind me about the importance of faithfulness no matter how big or small the task it.

So........Salute the Armed Forces this weekend!!! They've done more than enough to deserve it.

Here I Am!!

Well, it's summer!!! With my students gone, I have more time for stuff like this (especially if my husband can do it when he barely emails me one word emails all year!!).
